Because we believe in and support Social Work values and ethical principles, we are committed to:

Supporting the dignity and worth of all people.
Supporting fair and equitable treatment of all people.
Acknowledging that systemic and individual discrimination and oppression
contributes to individual, organizational, and societal inequities.
Advocating for changes in policies and procedures that perpetuate inequities.

Personal Commitment Statement

Therefore, my personal commitment and pledge to social justice is:

To dismantle my own personal biases to enhance social justice equity for all;
To allow myself opportunities to be uncomfortable and accept that this challenging
state is necessary for me to grow and develop;
To be willing to sit in my discomfort as long as necessary to “get it;”
To consistently engage in self-assessment to conduct a “personal check-in” regarding my personal contributions to social justice inequities;
To actively seek and engage in opportunities for personal growth, deeper
understanding, and which address personal areas in need of development;
To actively engage in activities that challenge social justice inequities.
