Earth's Water Resources Logo.png

Learn about hydrology, Earth's water cycle, and scientific and cultural resources for studying water conservation.

From the beginning of human history, oral traditions and written histories of the Earth's civilizations have recorded the importance of water to life on this planet. Examination of these stories provides readers with important insight into the values and beliefs of the culture that produced them. When combined with scientific investigations, such as the ones undertaken by NASA and the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), individuals learn not only the basics of Earth's water cycle, but also gain an appreciation for the significance of being good stewards of this most precious resource for future generations.

Completion of this badge will engage the learner with culturally relevant resources related to hydrology, the water cycle, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Water School, and global, national and local issues arising from utilization of water resources.
